Update: I bought this one. Cool old soviet built Zim from the 60s.

If it were me I would get the Zim, I like the mid century-ishness of the numbers.

Zim is awesome - has a Panerai look to it. Elgin is in horrible shape and doesn't look as good as Zim

Congrats on the zim! I am currently lusting after a Sinn 104!

Those look lovely! If I was getting a dress dive watch, I’d get an orange face Doxa Sub. I like the soviet watches because they are mechanical, have character, are hard to break, and are stupid cheap.

You could get a vostok amphibian for really cheap! They’re like $50 and are unbreakable! But I’ve been rocking this guy right now. It’s a Casio Marlin Diver with a gulf racing nato strap. I am really enjoying it and get tons of compliments on it! I will keep it even after I get a nicer watch!

I have one of these out for repair. Its being slightly reconditioned but due to parts rarity and repairs I could have bought a dozen basic Timex with the money. In the end it will be worth it. Its considered the Holy Grail of Heuers. For info google “ Heuer Monnin 844". I’m the original owner and got it when I was in college. Its been serviced before but poorly and sustained water damage inside after a service in the late 90's. Mine is very beat up. I wore it all the time. This is it below with some other watches. It is one of the rare French made Heuer. I will post pictures when I get it back and acquire a decent strap. I like the Gulf livery colors and 007 Nato styles. I have a couple of basic black Nato straps and it might get one of those until I figure something else out.
